The Boys Cross Country team learned a life lesson at the Monroe Central Invitational. With two of their top 7 not running, the Dawgs ran a great race that would have brought home a team championship but ended up second due to a runner missing a flag and getting disqualified. Today became a life lesson for the team and it was better that it happened early in the season instead at the end of the season. “I take the blame for not verifying that all of our athletes knew the course fully”, said Coach Stemmler.
Luis Saldana led the team and pulled away from the field to win the race in 16:51. Andrew Arnos was next in 2nd place. Also placing for the varsity were Coby Grunden (9th), Isaiah Belcher (11th), Tyler Hiatt (41st), Riley Felger (52nd), and Jonah Harris (79th).
